Cloud Services Storage Quotas

To moderate the rate of growth of Cornell’s overall cloud storage data requirements, and to maintain fiscal sustainability, Cornell maintains a data cap on the free storage services that are offered to students, faculty, and staff.

On February 19, 2024 storage caps were placed on Box and Microsoft 365 cloud storage services. This reflects similar limits added to Cornell Google Workspace accounts in 2022.

Individual Cloud Storage

We encourage you to practice good data management and remove files that you no longer need.

*Accounts above the default storage limit will have a quota added that will be above the amount of storage at that time. This prevents inconvenient, and stressful, interruption to day-to-day operations.
