Surveys and forms for the Cornell community

After the change occurs, typing in an address that has not been set up in the system in advance will result in Qualtrics not sending the invitation. Cornell provides a survey tool, Qualtrics, for use at no cost by Cornell faculty, staff, students, and retirees. Users can create and distribute their own surveys and gather information in support of the university's educational mission and organizational goals. Qualtrics has been reviewed by CIT's security team and approved for conducting surveys at Cornell.

Use the Survey Tool

Learn how to create and distribute a survey at the Qualtrics Academic Support Portal. Click Qualtrics Support, then under Select a support topic, click Survey Platform. In the left-hand menu, starting partway down, you'll see entries for different parts of Qualtrics (Projects Page, Survey Tab, Action Tab, etc.) The first listing under each is an overview of that subject, followed by more specific topics.

If you prefer learning by video, visit the Qualtrics Experience Basecamp. Click Qualtrics CoreXM or Research Methodology. If prompted to sign in, click Sign in with SSO. For Organization ID, type cornell. You will then be able to sign in using CUWebLogin. You'll be asked to authorize the application.

Use of Surveys for Research

To determine whether or not your research requires review and approval by the IRB, review the decision tree Is your activity covered under the Human Research Protection Program? (linked under Do I Need IRB Approval?), a PDF published by Cornell's Office of Research Integrity and Assurance. Visit the IRB website for more information.

In addition to the documentation on this website, you can visit Qualtrics Support for answers to most other questions and assistance with using the service. See Sign In to Submit a Request to Qualtrics Support.
