Setting a Custom "From Address": Group Account

By default, when sending a survey invitation from the mailer inside Qualtrics, the "From Address" must be email@example.com. You can change the From Name, which is what shows in the preview in many email apps, to anything you want. The Reply-To Address by default will be the address associated with the Cornell Qualtrics account being used. (Read more about the default From Address.)
All custom From Addresses and Reply-To Addresses must be set up in Qualtrics. If you type in a From or Reply-To Address that has not been, Qualtrics' systems will refuse to send it.
If you would like to use a From Address and Reply-To Address in the Qualtrics Mailer that will deliver responses directly back to you, you will need to:
- Request an Exchange Group Account (EGA) email account that the reply email can be delivered to.
- Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request an address that will resemble [a name you choose]@surveys.mail.cornell.edu to be used in Qualtrics itself as the From Address and Reply-To Address.
The second address supports Qualtrics' activities to get major email service providers to see your invitations as important, rather than classifying them as spam, and helps the university protect its email system.
