Problem: Wi-Fi Signal Drops or Weakens Repeatedly

This article applies to: Wi-Fi

You may find that, after connecting to Cornell Wi-Fi, your signal weakens or drops out entirely.

One cause is if you have something connected to a USB3 port on your device. USB3 uses the same frequency as most of our wireless users.

A workaround is to change the port setting on your device to USB2, which does not share this conflict.

To check your Wi-Fi connection and collect diagnostic information that may help the IT Service Desk with your issue, visit CIT's My Computers tool.
