Effective June 30, 2025, people in mainland China will be unable to use Acrobat Sign. This is a result of Adobe’s recent decision to block access to and from IP addresses located in mainland China. Please note that Hong Kong is not affected.

Most Adobe Acrobat Sign account holders will not be affected by this restriction. If this change affects you, please email the E-Signature Support Team to let them know.

Cornell's E-Signature support team has been working with the departments that support the university's programs and engagements in China to understand their needs and develop possible workarounds. CIT is investigating alternatives that may work in China, accounting for privacy and data security. If you are aware of any, please let the E-Signature Support Team know.

In the meantime, the recommendation for individuals who are conducting business in or with China is to use handwritten ink signatures and then scan or mail the documents.
