Cornell Students, Faculty, Staff, and Affiliates
Use Eduroam for secure wi-fi connection on campus. (You must use eduroam to comply with Policy 5.10, Information Security.)
Cornell uses the SecureW2 service to configure your device to connect to eduroam, which adds a secure certificate to your device. Once you complete a short enrollment process, you will be able to connect to any eduroam network (either at Cornell or at another eduroam-participating institution) without having to log in for five years.
If you already use eduroam at your current institution, be careful onboarding with Cornell’s SecureW2 onboard client. In some cases, onboarding beforehand can cause issues at your current institution. Please ask your HelpDesk or Network Administrator if you are unsure.
For Devices Using Certified Desktop
If you have a device using Certified Desktop follow the instructions to connect to eduroam for a MacOS or a Windows device.
For All Other Devices (Personal and Cornell-Owned)
Please use this link to get connected to the eduroam Wi-Fi network. You do not need to be on the Cornell campus to set up your device for eduroam using the SecureW2 onboarding tool.
Confidential Information and Wi-Fi
Secure wi-fi is required for certain types of data as stated in University Policy 5.10, Information Security. The eduroam network meets the requirements of this policy.
Guests From other Eduroam-Participating Institutions
Use eduroam for secure wi-fi connection on campus. Connect using your credentials from your home institution. You do not need to register as a guest or obtain Cornell credentials to use eduroam.
Internet of Things (Game Consoles, Internet TV, etc.)
If you need to connect an IOT device, or a device that doesn't support 802.1x, use RedRover.
Use these instructions to register IOT devices, or devices that don’t have a web browser. You must be on campus or connected through VPN to access the My Computers page.
Visitors (Alumni, Vendors, Family, etc.)
Register to use the Cornell-Visitor network. See these instructions for the Cornell-Visitor network for more information.
