There is no charge to students, faculty, staff, or visitors for using Wi-Fi. Note: If you are a departmental coordinator interested in having Wi-Fi access installed, please see Department Installation Information.
Departments who would like to establish or improve Wi-Fi in their areas can consult with Cornell Information Technologies (CIT). Wi-Fi service on campus is provided via the Aruba Networks 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi platform.
Several protocols are recommended. Which you use depends on what machines you're using during file transfer and what types of transfers you need to do. The following chart shows which file transfer protocols are recommended for each client and server combination.
Note: This page outlines secure methods for transferring files between a Windows or Unix client and a Unix server.
Use SSH (Secure Shell) keys and SCP (Secure Copy) to perform secure, unattended, server to server file transfers between Unix servers.
