How to place a telephone call on hold for an analog or digital phone

On This Page

Analog Phone

To place a call on hold

  • Depress switchhook. (Hear dial tone.)
  • Dial *6. Do not replace receiver.
To return to held call
  • Depress switchhook until telephone rings.

Digital Phone

To place a call on hold

  • Press the Hold button.

To return to held call

  • Press Held Call Appearance.
