Permission Levels
When sharing a mail folder or your calendar in Outlook for Windows, Outlook on the web, or Outlook for Mac, you can choose what level of access to grant.

Calendar Sharing Permission Levels
- Share your calendar in Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac, or Outlook on the web.
- View a shared calendar in Outlook for Windows.
- View a shared calendar in Outlook for Mac.
- View a shared calendar in Outlook on the web.
Permission Level | Permissions Granted |
Individual can see only when you are busy, but not the details of items on your calendar. | |
Individual can see when you're busy, plus the titles and locations of items on your calendar. | |
Individual can see all details of items on your calendar. | |
Individual can make changes to your calendar. This permission level is only available when sharing your calendar with an "@cornell.edu" address. | |

Edit and Delegate Access
By giving someone in your organization edit or delegate access, you can allow them to manage your Outlook calendar.
Edit Access: The individual can view and make changes to your calendar. View instructions to assign an editor with no delegation permissions.
Delegate Access: In addition to having edit access, the individual can schedule and respond to meetings for you. View instructions to assign a delegate.

Troubleshooting and Support
In certain cases, delegated accounts can experience problems with performance and synchronization: items may be missing, deleted items may remain, overall performance may suffer.
