Academic Web Hosting uses Cornell's Server Farm Account Management (SFAM).
What is SFTP?
CIT recommends using Secure File Transfer Protocol to upload your content to your Academic Web Hosting website. SFTP is a tool for moving large files over the web. It builds on the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and includes Secure Shell (SSH) security components.
Resource Account users can have with a variety of roles and privileges, assigned and maintained in the Exchange Account Manager (EAM) tool. Many Resource Accounts will not require all these roles.

Recipient Rights
With Recipient rights, a copy of messages sent to the account are delivered to your Exchange account.
This page applies to people who are "recipients" of a Resource Account's messages. This means that messages sent to the Resource Account are forwarded to their own account. (Our Configure Your Email Client article describes the distinction between Recipient rights and Access rights.)
