If You Already Have a Gmail Account (G Suite Users)
This article applies to: Cornell G Suite for Faculty and Staff, Cornell G Suite for Students
How are Gmail and G Suite different?
G Suite includes Gmail and several other tools. While you can continue to use your own Gmail account if you like, it will be completely separate from your G Suite account.
Your own personal Gmail account will also include advertising. Your G Suite account will not have any advertising until you leave the university.
Learn about using G Suite with other accounts.
If you have a personal Google account associated with your cornell.edu email address, the first time you sign in to any Google product after you are provisioned with a G Suite account, you'll be prompted to resolve the conflict between accounts. We recommend removing the association between your Cornell address and your non-G Suite account.
Google has a help page describing your choices for resolving the multiple account situation.
