Activate Your Cornell Google Workspace Account (Faculty and Staff)

In order to support collaboration with Cornell students and colleagues at other institutions, Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) accounts - which include Google's email, calendar, and collaboration services - are available for faculty and staff. Activating a Google Workspace account is optional.

Please note that Microsoft Office 365 remains the official email calendaring system for faculty and staff. To avoid scheduling conflicts, all room and equipment reservations MUST be made using Outlook's Calendar. Cornell will not be offering integration between Google Workspace and Office 365; we will not provide support for any third-party solutions.

Use this form to request a Google Workspace Account.

Google Workspace sign-in uses Cornell login. Your email address is your netid@cornell.edu address and your password is the one you use with your NetID to sign in to other Cornell services.

In addition, students, faculty, and staff who use Google Workspace will need to authenticate using Two-Step Login.

Your email will not be forwarded to your new Google Workspace account until you follow the steps in our Forward All Email from Office 365 to Cornell Google Workspace Account article.

This step is necessary if you want to receive mail through your Google Workspace account. If you only want to use Google Workspace for other features, such as Google Docs or Google Drive, you can skip this step.

Once forwarding has been set up, you can access your account at gsuite.cornell.edu, signing in with your netid@cornell.edu address and the password you use with your NetID.
