Activation of Mathematica 8 or higher requires you to get an individual Activation Key from Wolfram Research, the manufacturer of Mathematica. If you have not previously done so, you will need to register your email address to get this key.
Longview cannot print reports on 11 by 17 inch paper. Attempts to print Longview web reports on 11x17 inch paper will result in a report formatted for legal size paper, printed on the larger size. The Longview vendor is aware of this problem. There is no workaround at this time.
Sponsored NetID Process: An online form is available to request Sponsored NetIDs (see procedure below). The process eliminates the need for a sponsor letter, makes the process more secure, and allows the person receiving the NetID to upload a photo electronically.
IT Service Desk staff can answer questions and help you with general problems you are experiencing with your NetID. They will work with records offices to resolve questions of eligibility when they arise. 
Shredding files in Spirion permanently removes them from your machine. You cannot recover shredded files.
Your list of possible confidential data matches may include "false positives." A false positive is something that looked like confidential data to Spirion, but is not. You can ignore false positives. They will be skipped in future scans (unless they are changed).

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is an open-source operating system.  Prior to September 2019, Cornell University maintained a contract with the vendor to provide automated updates and support. Due to declining use of RHEL at Cornell, CIT chose not to renew the contract.
