Consumable Inventory Management

This article applies to: TeamDynamix

The Consumable item type is available in Assets/CIs applications, with fields for cost, supplier, reorder thresholds, and custom attributes.

Consumables are used for tracking inventory of interchangeable, relatively low-cost items — such as cables, batteries, or supplies — by quantity rather than as individual records with serial numbers like Assets. People who use ticketing in TDX can record consumable usage on tickets to track cost and chargeback.

  • Consumable quantity can be tracked overall or broken out by Location and Room.
  • People who use ticketing in TDX with the Add and remove consumables on tickets permission can use and edit consumables tickets if they also have access to an Asset application.
  • New report sources allow tracking the details of consumables and their usage: Consumables Report, Consumable Usage Report, and Consumable Details Report.
