Force an Inventory Refresh (Windows)

This article applies to: Endpoint Management Tools

This page is intended for IT support professionals. End users should contact local IT support.

Various parts of the inventory database are updated automatically at different times. If you have made a change to a managed computer, the procedure described here will force an immediate update to that computer's record in the inventory.

  1. From the Windows Control Panel, select Configuration Manager. If you are in Category View, you'll find it within the System & Security category.
  2. Click Actions.
  3. Click Hardware Inventory Cycle and/or Software Inventory Cycle, depending on your needs.
  4. Click Run Now, then click OK.

Other options are available on the Actions tab.
