As part of the university’s cost savings initiative, the next fiscal year budget will no longer fund both Avaya and RingCentral telecommunications services. Support for the legacy telephone services, Avaya, will be discontinued on June 30, 2025.
Four fiscal years ago, departments across Cornell University began transitioning to a new platform for communicating through voice and data: RingCentral. By June 30, 2025, that transition will be complete and the legacy Avaya phone services will no longer be supported.
The Avaya telephone system and its related services will be retired next year on May 15, 2025. On that date, Avaya will no longer be supported on the Ithaca campus.
