Hide phone number

Cornell employees can hide their campus phone number from the public by using a setting in Workday.

Prompted by the increase in digital harassment and harassing phone calls, CIT partnered with HR to hide university phone numbers from Cornell’s online directory for employees who flag their number as private.

The IT Security Office is working with several campus partners to identify additional solutions for decreasing digital harassment incursions into the teaching, learning, and research spaces of Cornell employees. Student privacy and information suppression is handled through the university’s Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act or FERPA processes.

See our employee instructions for hiding your phone number in the online directory.
