Zoom Problem: Not Meeting Host Error Message

This article applies to: Zoom

If someone forwards to you a link for a Zoom meeting, it’s possible you will see this error message when you try to use the link:

Sorry... Not meeting host (3,003)

This will only happen when

  • The meeting’s original host grants access to an alternate host. At this point, a special meeting link is created for the alternate host.

AND

  • The alternate host forwards the special link to other people instead of giving people the standard meeting link.

The error message indicates, correctly, that you are not a host for this meeting.

The solution is to get the original meeting link from any host.
