Check Your Zoom Application Version and Upgrade to the Most Recent Version

This article applies to: Zoom

On This Page

To ensure that you are taking advantage of Zoom’s latest video and security features, keep your desktop client application updated to the most recent version.

Beginning November 1, 2021, Zoom will require all users to keep their copies of Zoom apps updated to within nine months of the most recent release. Any copies of Zoom older than this will prompt the user to upgrade to the current version before launching. This requirement will apply to desktop apps, mobile clients, and Zoom Rooms software.

Check the Current Zoom Version

To see what your Zoom client application version is:

  1. Open the Zoom desktop application and log in if necessary.
  2. Click your profile picture to open the Profile menu.
  3. Click Help, then click About Zoom. The program will display information about the current version.

  4. Click Close (x) at top right to close the About window.

Update Zoom

To update Zoom to the most recent version:

  1. Open the Zoom desktop application and log in if necessary.
  2. Click your profile picture to open the Profile menu.
