Cornell Microsoft Teams users will soon have the option to turn on a new chat and channel experience being rolled out by Microsoft. Once enabled, individual and meeting chats and channels appear in the same pane. Smart filter buttons let you show only unread messages, only chat, only channels, or only meeting chat. Clicking another button will hide muted conversations.
A new Favorites section at the top takes the place of the previous Pinned items and contains everything that has been pinned in the past. You can reorder the items in Favorites. If you’d like to take this functionality further, you can create new Sections in this space, combining into a group the chats from individuals, groups, channels, and meetings that you select. After Favorites and Chat, the Teams and Channels section appears, listed in the same order as the previous experience.
New controls make it possible to choose to view chat and channels separately, see message previews, or display all channels in a single list, based on your preference.
