Emergency Notification Calls with RingCentral

This article applies to: RingCentral

Cornell's Office of Emergency Management periodically tests the Emergency Mass Notification (EMN) Systems, which send notifications through voice and text messaging, email, CUView digital screens, official social media accounts, sirens, and public address systems.

If you receive voice messages through RingCentral, you will notice that the first several seconds of the message are missing for both calls you pick up and calls that go to voicemail. Voicemail transcripts received via email may also be missing the first several seconds of the message. The message repeats, so you will be able to hear or read the beginning during these repetitions.

Also, depending on call volumes and personal RingCentral settings the voicemail notification emails may appear some time well after the initial notification.

Both CIT and the vendor are aware of these issues and are working to resolve them.
