Request a Microsoft 365 A5 License
For those with standard A1 licenses, an explanation of the circumstances under which you can request an A5 license

Two types of Microsoft 365 licenses available at Cornell: A1 and A5. Details about how they differ and how to find out which one you have can be found at Microsoft 365 ProPlus for Cornell Employees.
The A5 License is only available to certain users based on their affiliation with Cornell University. The following affiliations do not qualify for this license:
- Temporary
- Exception
- Student
- Alumni
- Former Postdoc
A1 license-holders can request an upgrade to an A5 license to gain additional capabilities for specific Cornell educational, research, or business needs. The license will apply only to computers used for Cornell work.
Submit a ticket to request a Microsoft 365 A5 license for additional features such as:
Mailbox storage increase from 50GB to 100GB
- Enable download of Desktop Office Applications
- Microsoft Bookings access
- Microsoft Teams Dial In Numbers
- Power BI Pro
- OneDrive larger than 100GB
