Intakes and Discoveries
We work with you to meet your business needs, budget, and deadlines. Our intake services range from a free 1-hour intake to short discoveries to full-scale requirements.
User Experience Research and Information Architecture
Our aim is to delight your users and help them use your website or app most efficiently.
We conduct user research including:
- User interviews
- Google Analytics analysis
- Card sorting
- Tree testing
- Competitive analysis
We use this research to develop user-centered information architecture and wireframes that support user workflows, tasks, and goals. In addition we work with stakeholders to gain consensus on these decisions.
Our team can also assist with usability testing on existing sites or apps to help pinpoint what’s working well and where improvements can be made.
Branding and Visual Design
We have top-notch designers who create visual designs that distinctively represent your department, college, school, program, or project, while fulfilling all requirements of the Cornell branding guidelines.
Quality Assurance and Web Accessibility
We thoroughly test web sites and applications on multiple browsers and mobile/tablet devices to ensure that users will encounter no issues, and that those with cognitive or physical disabilities can navigate your site with ease. More about web accessibility
We partner with Cornell's IT Security Office to check for security vulnerabilities on your website or application. Our developers address those issues to keep your site secure.
We provide guidance on the breadth of hosting options available, whether here on campus or in the cloud. We broker arrangements with CampusPress (CU Blogs Service/WordPress), Acquia (Drupal), and Pantheon (Drupal/WordPress), and can help you select the right hosting provider to meet your needs.
Cornell offers many web hosting service options to suit varying levels of technical skill and knowledge of installing and maintaining web software. These include:
Content Management Systems
Pantheon (WordPress and Drupal)
Amazon Web Services (AWS) (CIT Cloud Services)
For detailed guidance on how to choose the best fit for your needs, consult the Hosting Comparison Chart in Box. This information is being developed for eventual availability as an online tool, but in response to customer interest, we’re providing it now in this interim form as a resource to support decisions that need to be made in coming months.
Support and Maintenance
We provide ongoing support and maintenance throughout the lifecycle of your product, from small enhancements and fixes to patches and maintenance for Drupal and WordPress sites.
We are a talented team of higher education specialists who exclusively provide custom web solutions and support to the Cornell community. As part of Cornell we share the same goals, vision, and priorities as you and can develop a solution that meets your budget, yet still meets Cornell standards for branding and web accessibility.
