Set a CU Print Queue as Your Default Printer

This article applies to: CU Print

On This Page

If you will be doing all or most of your printing to CU Print printers, you can set one of the CU Print queues as your default. You still have the option, every time you print any document, to specify a different printer.

If you frequently print to non-CU Print printers, the procedure described here won't be useful for you.

Windows

This assumes you have already installed the CU Print (PaperCut) software on your computer.

  1. Open Windows Settings.
  2. Click Devices.
  3. Click Printers & scanners. In the list, you should see both print queues: CU Print-BW [sf-printsvc10](Mobility) and CU Print-Color [sf-printsvc10](Mobility).
  4. Click the queue you want to set as your default, then click Manage.
  5. On the Manage your device screen, click Set as default.
  6. Close the Settings window.

Now, when printing from any application, your document will be sent to this print queue. You always have the option, when printing any specific document, of selecting the other queue or any printer in your list.

Mac

This assumes you have already installed the CU Print (PaperCut) software on your computer.

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Click Printers & Scanners.
  3. From the Default printer dropdown list, select the queue you want to set as your default, either CU Print BW or CU Print-Color.
  4. Close System Preferences.

Now, when printing from any application, your document will be sent to this print queue. You always have the option, when printing any specific document, of selecting the other queue or any printer in your list.
