There have been a number of useful updates to Microsoft Teams in recent months.

Schedule channel messages

It's been possible to schedule message delivery in chat for some time. Now it can also be done when posting channel messages. If you are working outside normal business hours and want post a comment but don't want people to feel compelled to read or respond until normal work time, you can schedule it. In that way, you can get the task off your list without interrupting others' off hours. For more information, see Schedule channel messages in Microsoft Teams.

Forward messages

Forwarding messages in Teams lets you share messages, files, loop components, app cards, and images with one person, a group chat, or a channel. You can also start a new group chat based on a forwarded message. To see how, visit Forward a message in Microsoft Teams

Pop out meeting chat and notes

If you need to monitor or participate in multiple conversations at once, you can save the effort you might spend hopping from one to another by opening them into their own separate windows. See how at Open a chat in a new window in Microsoft Teams and under Access notes during a meeting in Take meeting notes in Microsoft Teams.

Enhanced external chat protection

Chats with individuals outside your home Teams organization now have better security. To learn more about external chats, see External Collaboration Options with Microsoft Teams, Prevent spam or phishing attempts from external chats in Microsoft Teams,  Add or invite people outside your org to a chat in Microsoft Teams, and Prevent spam or phishing attempts from external chats in Microsoft Teams

Choose where Teams notifications are displayed

You can choose where you'd like notifications to appear. You can select bottom right, top right, bottom left or top left. See how under Change how your notifications appear on-screen from the page Manage notifications in Microsoft Teams.

iPad multi-window support

The Teams app for iPadOS now supports multi-window functionality. Teams windows work with split view, slde over, and center window. See how at Use multitasking on your iPad

Voice isolation in Macs

Voice isolation allows you to filter out background noise during Teams calls and meetings. When you add a voice profile, Teams will know which sounds to keep (your voice) and which ones to filter out. Voice isolation also filters out sound from other speakers to prevent echoes. This feature, previously available only in Windows, can now be used in macOS. FOr more information, see Voice isolation in Microsoft Teams calls and meetings.

More predictable recording location

In the past, it was not always clear where recordings of a Teams meeting would be stored. This process now has a more predictable outcome. Teams meeting recordings are automatically stored in the organizer's OneDrive. For channel meetings, the recording will be stored on the Files tab for the channel. For non-channel meetings, the recording will be stored in the Recordings folder in the meeting organizer's OneDrive folder. If you were invited to the meeting, you can access the recording through the Files or Shared tabs in the chat, channel, or meeting details. For more information, see Play, share, and download a meeting recording in Microsoft Teams

New CarPlay interface

Teams now has a new interface for Apple CarPlay. This allows you to safely make Teams audio calls on the road with Apple CarPlay. After you connect your phone to your car using Bluetooth or a USB cable. your device’s screen should automatically appear on your car’s display with available CarPlay apps. To learn more about how to get going and available features, see Place Microsoft Teams calls with Apple CarPlay
