Clear Your Browser Cookies, Cache, and History

Many public computers have software installed that automatically clears browser cookies, cache, and history. Look for the Deep Freeze icon in the System Tray or Task Bar.

If you use a browser on a public computer without the Deep Freeze software, you should clear the cookies, the cache, and the browser history before you leave the computer.

Clear Cookies, Cache, and History

Internet Explorer

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Internet Options.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Under Temporary Internet Files, click Delete Cookies, and then click OK.
  4. Under Temporary Internet Files, click Delete Files, and then click OK.
  5. Under History, click Clear History, and then click Yes.
  6. Click OK.


  1. From the Tools menu, choose Clear Recent History.
  2. In the Clear Recent History window, check all of the options, and then click Clear Now.


  1. From the Safari menu, choose Reset Safari.
  2. Check all of the options, and then click Reset.


  1. From the Chrome menu, choose Clear browsing data.
  2. Check all of the options, and then click Clear browsing data.
