Install CU Print

Installing the CU Print software and print queues

This article applies to: CU Print

In order to install CU Print, submit print jobs, or use the CU Print web portal, you must be connected to the campus network (wired or wireless) OR use the CU VPN service to connect.

Installers are available for Windows and Mac. The vendor plans to release a Linux installer in 2021.

  1. Download the CU Print installer for Windows or CU Print installer for Mac.
  2. Run the installer file.
  3. Click through the installer, accepting the defaults. When the installer finishes, you should see a sign-in prompt.
If you do not see a sign-in prompt, please follow the instructions in the "If you are not prompted" section below.
  4. Authenticate using your Cornell NetID and associated password.

The two print queues, CU Print-BW and CU Print-Color will be installed. When you print anything, you can choose to use one of these queues instead of a local printer.

If you are not prompted for your NetID credentials

Some computers are configured such that the sign-in form does not open automatically. If this is the case for you, follow these steps.

If you were prompted for your NetID, ignore this.

Windows

  1. In the Windows system tray, right-click the PaperCut icon, then click View my printers. The Papercut Print Deploy window will open. On the My printers tab, you should see both queues listed as not installed.
  2. Click Sign in to install (on either queue).
  3. Sign in using your NetID and associated password.

Both print queues will be installed.

Mac

  1. Restart your Mac.
  2. In the Mac menu bar, click the PaperCut icon, then click Reconnect.
  3. In the sign-in window that opens, enter your NetID and associated password.

Both print queues will be installed.
