CU Print Client Can’t Find Server

This article applies to: CU Print

When the CU Print client is installed and configured without pointing to the correct server, users will get the following window when first attempting to connect:

Papercut Printer Server Error Screen

This can occur on both Mac and PC installs when the installer has not configured the client to connect to the CU Print server. In order for the Papercut Print deploy client to install correctly, the Papercut server must be named in the installer file name. Some browsers (Arc Browser) rename the CU Print install files. The fix is to uninstall the current CU Print client and download a new (correctly named) CU Print installer.

When downloading new CU Print install files, the correct file names are:

  • pc-print-deploy-client[printing.cornell.edu].dmg (Mac)
  • pc-print-deploy-client[printing.cornell.edu].msi (Windows)
