CU Print problem: Why is my printing cut off?

This article applies to: CU Print

CU Print uses 3 US standard paper sizes:

  • LT - letter size 8.5" x 11"
  • LG - legal size 8.5" x 14"
  • LG - ledger or tabloid size 11" x 17"

LT is similar in size to the international standard A4 size (8.27" x 11.69"). CU Print is configured to allow A4 jobs to pass through as LT because of this. There is some intelligence built into the printers to convert A4 to LT, but many times that conversion is not perfect. The most common issue we see when printing A4 to LT paper is that the bottom text of the document will be very close to the edge of the paper or even potentially cut off.

To prevent this from happening, we suggest printing documents as LT.  There is typically a page size/page format selection in the print options menu of various applications. For users uploading documents to web print, we suggest saving those documents in an LT page format or printing them as PDFs with an LT page format prior to uploading the document to web print. Please contact us if you have questions about formatting documents for printing.
