Grant Access to Box for Microsoft Desktop Co-Authoring

This article applies to: Box

When you open a Microsoft 365 file from Box on desktop, you may be prompted by a pop-up window to "Log in to grant access to Box."

After signing in once, you can collaborate in real time with your colleagues without needing to manually add Box as a Place. You can co-author Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files, and have all changes saved directly back to Box.

Grant Access to Box

  1. When prompted to log in to grant access to Box, click Use Single Sign On (SSO).
  2. Enter your Cornell email address and click Authorize. The window will change to CUWebLogin.
  3. Enter your password and click Log in with Password. If you have your Passkey set up, you can select Log in with Passkey instead.
  4. After authorization, click Grant Access to Box.

Your Microsoft 365 files in Box on desktop are now set up for co-authoring and seamless connection to your Box account.
