IT@Cornell comprises two university-structured groups, encompassing almost all of the approximately 700 campus IT employees. The central IT organization, Cornell Information Technologies (CIT), focuses on providing central services, infrastructure, and enterprise services. The IT Service Group (ITSG) directors provide customized services to colleges and units. The two groups shape IT strategy and priorities through collaboration, goal setting, and IT governance.
The ITSG is led by three co-chairs -- with two representatives from distributed units and one from CIT. The co-chairs serve staggered three-year terms. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the ITSG’s critical role in reviewing and prioritizing IT projects through the governance process
- Guiding the ITSG’s strategic direction and facilitate collaboration among the distributed IT units and with CIT
- Leading the ITSG’s annual goal-setting process and ensure alignment with university priorities
- Serving as liaisons on the Chief Information Officer’s leadership team
