CU Print: Parts Inventory and Ordering Process

CU Print provides toner cartridges, waste toner bottles, and all replacement parts to site locations at no cost to the location, per the CU Print MOU. Paper is ordered separately by the location (see Order Paper for CU Print on IT@Cornell). This article covers the internal parts inventory process for Print Team technicians.

What CU Print Provides

  • Toner cartridges: All models (BW, Color, MFP). Supplied by Toshiba under the service contract.

  • Waste toner bottles: Color and MFP devices only.

  • Replacement parts: Fusers, drum units, feed rollers, and other mechanical components covered under the service contract are supplied and installed by Toshiba.

  • RFID card reader replacements: Readers are replaced by the Print Technician. 

Toner from Toshiba

  1. Toner is automatically ordered by the printer based on usage and an estimated date of need through PageSmart. Shipping and tracking information can be seen at each device.
    1. If a toner has not been shipped, a manual order can be placed within the system
    2. If the toner ran out before shipment occurred, the backstock at 120 Maple can be used to replace it until the autotoner replacement is resolved.
  2. Backstock of toners should be kept at a minimum of 2 toners per color and per device type. Supplies for backstock can be ordered via email ncentral.service@tbs.toshiba.com.
