How can I tell whether opting in to Two-Step Login for Office 365 worked?
This article applies to: Two-Step Login
To check whether opting in to Two-Step Login with Office 365 is working:
- Open Outlook on the Web (outlook.cornell.edu).
- If you did not need to sign in, sign out and then sign back in again.
- When requested, enter your NetID and password.
- Two-Step Login will prompt you to confirm using a push, phone call, or passcode. The Duo prompt at this step might look a little different than usual. (This is expected.)
- At the Stay sign in? screen, click the checkbox to reduce how often Microsoft Office asks you to sign in to Office apps.
- Click to continue.
When you are using Microsoft Office applications or Apple's Mail and Calendar applications to access Office 365, you will not need to sign in on a regular basis. Don’t worry, Two-Step Login will stop attackers from breaking-in to your account.
