To avoid the surprise of a disconnected Avaya telephone number or other legacy telecommunications services on June 30, 2025, plan now to migrate to RingCentral now.
As part of the university’s cost savings initiative, the next fiscal year budget will no longer fund both Avaya and RingCentral telecommunications services. Support for the legacy telephone services, Avaya, will be discontinued on June 30, 2025.
Four fiscal years ago, departments across Cornell University began transitioning to a new platform for communicating through voice and data: RingCentral. By June 30, 2025, that transition will be complete and the legacy Avaya phone services will no longer be supported.

Avaya Call Management System (CMS) software gathers statistics about telephone usage, such as how many calls have been taken, how many staff are logged in to take calls, etc.
