Survey Collaboration

This article applies to: Surveys Lite (Microsoft Forms)

Benefits of Survey Collaboration in Forms

Microsoft Forms is the preferred platform for survey collaboration. When collaborators are added to a form, they become an owner. If one of the owners leaves Cornell, it won’t affect survey availability for the other owner(s).

We do not recommend using Qualtrics to collaborate on surveys except when research requires features that are not available in Forms. Qualtrics accounts are periodically removed when owners become inactive or leave Cornell, and all associated surveys, including shared surveys, are deleted with the account.

Collaborate in Forms

Collaborators will be able to edit the form, share it, and view responses.

  1. Open the survey in Forms
  2. Select the More form settings (three-dot icon) in the upper right corner
  3. Select Collaborate or Duplicate
  4. Select the +Share the link to collaborate and view result link
  5. Use the dropdown arrow to set collaboration restrictions
  6. Copy the link provided, and send it to your collaborator(s)

Collaborate in Teams

Channel members will be able to edit the form, share it, and view responses.

  1. In the ribbon at the top of a Channel, click the + button to Add a tab
  2. Search for and select Forms for Microsoft Teams
  3. Select the desired option:
    1. Create a shared form that your team can edit and see results
      • Name the new form
    2. Add an existing form
      • Link the existing form
  4. Select Save

The shared form is now available as a separate tab in the channel.
