Tableau Software helps people see and understand data. Tableau delivers fast analytics, visualization, and business intelligence. Cornell's license for Tableau is managed by the College of Arts and Sciences.

Instructional Use

Tableau Software's academic programs can provide Cornell students and instructors free licenses for Tableau Desktop Professional.

Students

Full-time students at Cornell University are eligible for a free one-year Tableau Desktop Professional license through the Tableau for Students program. To request a free one-year license, please complete the online form at the vendor's site through the link below. Students can renew their license each year they remain a full-time student

Instructors

Instructors at Cornell University are eligible for free Tableau Desktop Professional licenses for themselves and their students through the Tableau for Teaching program. Instructors can request free one-year licenses for themselves as well as bulk keys for students' personal computers and/or computer labs. The bulk student keys and lab keys are generally valid for the length of the course.

Instructor licenses are limited to teaching purposes, including use in classes or evaluating use in classes. Research or administrative use is not allowed under Tableau for Teaching licensing.
