Restore Files From the Offsite Disaster Recovery Copy

This article applies to: Shared File Services

Files can't be restored from the offsite disaster recovery copy. The disaster recovery copy is only to be used to recover the content of the service in the event of an Ithaca site level disaster. If you want to recover older versions of files, you should enable snapshots for the share.

If your share has files or paths that go beyond the ~256 character limit, we strongly recommend replication. Choose this option from the update share request page.

Snapshots are required if an Off-Site Disaster Recovery Copy is appropriate.
