Microsoft and Western intelligence agencies report that espionage groups, believed to be connected to Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), are targeting and compromising hotel and conference Wi-Fi networks around the world.

Do not trust hotel and conference Wi-Fi. Whenever possible, use cellular data instead.

The attackers compromise networks and manipulate internet traffic, redirecting their victims to fake browsers, Microsoft login pages, and operating system update screens. Interacting with these deceptive pages and screens will infect your computer with malware.

Once your computer is compromised, attackers have free rein over your device to collect files, capture audio and video, remotely control your computer, record keystrokes, and steal information.
