Associate Chief Information Security Officer Tim Bradish

For over a decade, Tim Bradish has helped shield and strengthen Cornell services and systems against attack. In a spotlight story on the Human Resources (HR) home page, the associate chief information security officer attributed his team’s success to their interest in working with each other and with local experts to identify and address security risks and opportunities.

“Everybody at Cornell plays a part in the overall security of the institution, and it’s rewarding to collaborate with different offices and teams to support their goals while protecting the institution as a whole,” said Bradish.

In July 2024, he experienced this type of collaboration firsthand as Cornell community members around Ithaca and the globe joined forces to deal with the repercussions of a vendor’s faulty cybersecurity update. That type of shared response and resolution is an aspect of his role that he finds deeply rewarding.

“Having worked in a small business tech start-up, in government contracting, and funded research, transitioning to higher education was a breath of fresh air. The people here are collegial, educated and motivated to help carry out the mission,” he said.
