Create an Additional Web Disk (WebDAV) Account for Media3

How to create an additional Web Disk (WebDAV) Account for Media3

This article applies to: Media3 Managed Web Hosting

Regardless of whether you are connecting to a WebDAV resource as the main instance account, or using a subordinate / additional account, all files will be owned by the main instance user.
  1. Connect to the Media3 Dashboard. Enter your NetID and password to login.
  2. Under My Services > Server View (Media3's default view), find the server or instance you want.
  3. Select Instances/Sites from the left menu
  4. Select the appropriate Instance
  5. Select WebDisk.
  6. Under Create an Additional Web Disk Account, enter:
    1. Username
    2. Password
    3. Password (Again)
    4. Set Home Directory to public_html/
    5. Select Read-Write or Read-Only, as desired.
Do NOT select Enable Digest Authentication.
  1. Make a note of the Domain field, which is prefilled for you.  For example, if the Domain is toybox.hosting.cornell.edu, and the Username is firetruck, then the full WebDAV username would be firetruck@toybox.hosting.cornell.edu.
  2. Select Create.

If you successfully created your new account, the system will display a confirmation message.
