Lock or Unlock Files in Box

This article applies to: Box

When collaborating on a document in Box, you may want to lock a file to prevent your collaborators from making edits on a document while you're working on it.

For instructions and further information, refer to the vendor's article, Locking & Unlocking Files

Box files can exist in several different environments (web application, Box Sync, Box for Office, etc.). If you need to lock a file, make sure to do so in the same environment where you will be making edits.
