IT Training Customized Courses & Administrative Support

IT Training provides customized IT training upon request from any Cornell unit. We also provide customer service and administrative support for IT training and/or events across campus.

This article applies to: Training

IT Training can help any Cornell unit get the specific IT-related training they need. Want to customize or combine existing courses to fit your team's needs? Bring a instructor to campus instead of sending your staff to their location? Reserve a course so your team can all take it together at the same time? Set up an IT skills curriculum and track your team's progress? IT Training can help.

To get started, simply place a request, including as much information as possible (link to a course outline, how many participants you would expect to attend from your unit and/or across campus, etc.).

Bringing instructors to campus: It can be much more economical to pay for a trainer to come to Cornell instead of sending several people to the trainer's location. IT Training can help promote the course locally to boost the numbers of participants if that is helpful. Also, IT Training may be able to negotiate Cornell pricing with a vendor to help bring the cost down as well.

Customer service and administrative support for IT training and IT-related events: Primarily, IT Training uses the CULearn learning management system to manage IT training. Any courses posted there can be made viewable to whichever active Cornell staff or faculty members should see them. CULearn is used in many units to help track compliance training, for example.

Administrative support and billing: IT Training can help with vendor agreements, approval of invoices, and billing of participants for IT-related courses. Reports are compatible with the Kuali billing system.
