The IT Leaders Program (ITLP) is a multi-university, cross-campus program built around MOR Associates' core leadership curriculum and tuned to the needs of senior leaders. It is designed for individuals who will play increasingly important management and leadership roles. Rather than learning through case studies based on past events, participants work on real problems they are facing.

ITLP Overview

The IT Leaders Program (ITLP) is for IT community members who have management aspirations and whose managers believe they have the skills to be a future manager at Cornell. It is also for those already in positions of leadership who wish to improve their skills. Participation entails a 2-year commitment (year one is the program and year two is mentoring the next year's participants.) Cornell class members meet off-site at other Ivy Plus institutions.

Time commitment: October 2022 to September 2023 with four virtual 1-day sessions and four in-person 3-day sessions. The in-person sessions require travel days. Work is assigned to complete between sessions.

Costs: $7,000 tuition plus travel expenses. All costs are paid by your Cornell department, unit, or college.

Travel: The four in-person sessions require travel to other participating universities (for 2023, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, and Harvard/MIT). Typically, participants require a 3- or 4-night stay, depending on the university location.

Objectives:

• Enhance the professional and personal development of senior staff who will play increasingly important management and leadership roles.

• Explore opportunities for each individual to make sustainable improvements in their effectiveness

• Gain a heightened perspective on strategic issues facing higher education institutions post-pandemic

• Evolve each individual’s capabilities to build a diverse workforce and create an inclusive work environment

• Strengthen relationships and foster collaboration within and across the participating universities
