On Friday, September 26, 2025, CIT will implement two new security features to strengthen authentication for Azure, Entra, Intune, and M365:
- New Multifactor Authentication (MFA) with Duo to comply with Microsoft’s mandatory MFA requirements
- A 10-hour token session limit
The MFA enforcement on admin portals comes with a small change to the login process. After entering your password, you will be prompted to verify your identity with Duo. To learn more about these changes, refer to Changes to Authentication Process for Microsoft Admin Portals.
MFA is a key strategy for protecting digital assets, with research showing that it can block more than 99% of account compromise attacks (Microsoft Security).
