Cornell’s CUView digital signage vendor, Appspace, was recently notified of changes to the Twitter API access policy that affect third-party platform integrations. As a result of Twitter's changes, Appspace will no longer be able to access and display Twitter content using the existing Card templates and in-platform integration. Twitter has announced that the change is scheduled for April 29, 2023.
Appspace understands that this situation will disappoint users and that sharing social media content such as Twitter feeds contributes in an important way to organizations’ communication strategies. The company has stated that it will examine Twitter’s access policies going forward and explore alternative possibilities for delivering Twitter content in Appspace.
The following documentation resources may be useful when removing Twitter content from your CUView (Appspace) sign:
- Remove or Disable Content in a Basic Playlist Channel.
- Remove a Card in an Advanced Channel Media Zone.
- Removing a widget from the layout of an Advanced channel may require a redesign of the layout of the channel because simply deleting a widget will generally leave an empty area in the layout design. However, for basics on managing widgets, please refer to the Appspace documentation—Widgets: Add, Edit, or Delete Widgets from Advanced Channels.
