Problem: I Am Able to Log In to WhoIAm but Not Outlook

This problem occurs because Microsoft products use Active Directory for authentication and your password is not up to date in that system. In particular, those who haven’t changed their passwords since 2007 will be affected.

This article applies to: NetIDs

Changing your password will solve the issue. Go to the Manage Your NetID website, then click Change Your Password to start the process. Follow the instructions there.

Once you have done this, your new password will be saved in the current security system, Active Directory, and you’ll be all set.

You should be aware in advance that there are password complexity rules in place. These rules prevent you from re-using your current password and help you come up with a new password that can’t easily be compromised by hackers.

If you have any difficulty changing your password or logging in afterward, contact the IT Service Desk for assistance.
