How IT@Cornell Works
Understanding IT@Cornell Structure
IT@Cornell is comprised of two university-structured groups, encompassing almost all of the approximately 700 campus IT employees.
Office of the CIO and Cornell Information Technologies (CIT) | Information Technology Service Groups (ITSGs) |
---|---|
The Office of CIO and Cornell Information Technologies (CIT) provide IT services that span the entire university. About one-third of IT employees work here. |
Information Technology Service Groups (ITSGs) are the groups associated with Cornell’s colleges, and academic and administrative units. An IT director leads each group. Two-thirds of IT employees work here. |
Groups Across IT@Cornell
The IT@Cornell community works in complementary and orthogonal groups across campus, often including non-IT members whose activities IT is intended to support:
- Partners and Stakeholders
- IT@Cornell Leadership Community
- Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
- CIT Diversity Council: Cornell’s Toward New Destinations encourages and promotes diversity and inclusion across the entire campus. CIT is represented through its role in the Alliance for Diversity & Inclusion, comprised of several units on campus.
