Hospitals are already deploying deep learning and generative AI technologies to benefit patients. How are they deriving benefits and safeguarding quality of patient care while deploying these cutting-edge technologies? We will focus on two specific use cases which illustrate how to deploy and supervise deep learning techniques and large language models in health care settings. Image segmentation of multi-channel brain MR images can assist radiologists in identifying areas of significant medical interest. Hospital patient readmission prediction from reading providers' unstructured notes can save patient lives by keeping needful patients in the hospital, while allowing lower risk patients the convenience and time savings to head home.
