The open source version of MySQL is a good choice for web applications. The Enterprise Data Services team can assist with managing MySQL Server databases, whether on-premise or in AWS unless noted.

  • Proactive monitoring and alert notifications
  • Performance tuning
  • Backup
  • Database patching to maintain compliance with IT Security Office and University Audit Office requirements
  • Database upgrades
  • Transition of databases to AWS RDS (preferred) or EC2 or creation of new databases, either in one of CIT's AWS accounts or in the customer’s AWS account
  • Transition of Oracle databases to MySQL using AWS SCT (Schema Conversion) and DMS (Data Migration Services) tools
