Email From CrashPlan About Your Backups

CrashPlan sends periodic emails reporting on the success or failure of your backups.

This article applies to: CrashPlan

Data on Certified Desktop devices is protected using backups managed through CrashPlan.

You will receive regular email reports giving the status of your backups. These usually come weekly, but the frequency is set by your local IT Service Group.

If your device cannot be backed up (most often because it is not being used, for example while you are on vacation, but sometimes for technical reasons), CrashPlan will send you a warning notification.

This usually happens after three days without a successful backup, but the timing can be set by your local IT Service Group.

If your device has been in use, follow the steps in the message: make sure you are connected to the internet, launch the CrashPlan app, and click Run Backup Now. If you have questions or doubts, contact your local IT Service Group to find and fix the issue preventing backups.

If another few days go by without a successful backup (usually two more days, but the timing can be set by your local IT Service Group), you’ll receive a critical notification.

Again, if your device has been in use, follow the steps in the message: make sure you are connected to the internet, launch the CrashPlan app, and click Run Backup Now. If you have questions or doubts, contact your local IT Service Group to find and fix the issue preventing backups.

Once the problem has been resolved, the regular backup reports will show successful backups.
